Two weeks ago we celebrated this youngest gals 2nd birthday. I have mentioned in earlier posts that I am somewhat in denial this growing up is in fact happening, apparently right in front of my wide open eyes. You all get it, right? The destiny of the last born is of perpetual infanthood no matter what age, anyone with me? Nine out of ten times I refer to her as "the baby" and the one other time is a run down of all the older sisters names, then the dog (past and present...yeah I know, pretty bad) before I put my hands up and ask "what did we name you again?". Sunny on the other hand can finally say her name!!!!!!! Yeah! She has been working so hard on her L's and V's, calling her baby ya-ya from birth. Switching to and from sounds that originate in different areas of the mouth is notoriously hard for kids with Apraxia...she has been making some incredible progress!
This little spring cardi is the first of three handmade birthday gifts. The pattern is Springtime in Hollis and it is one of my favorites, I truly can't wait to make another one. I used some coral organic wool yarn by Swans Island and I made the fabric covered buttons with some organic Acorn Trail fabric and brass bases...super easy by the way.
